Travel Club AGM Ends With Call For Support From Chairman
14th June 2011
The Hednesford Town Independent Travel Club held their Annual General Meeting last Thursday night and Chairman Phil Reybould called for supporters of The Pitmen to follow their team to all corners of the North of England throughout the coming season.
Most Hednesford fans are looking forward to locking horns with local rivals Chasetown and Stafford Rangers but it is easy to forget that some very attractive away days lie in wait for the more discerning supporter next season.
‘We understand that home games are the bread and butter for a lot of Pitmen fans but, as a Club, we have a very passionate and welcoming away support and the Travel Club has become an integral part of that over many years and many miles of following Hednesford Town. This season will be no different and it would be great to welcome newcomers one and all to some exciting away days.’
Rob Smith’s side will travel to popular tourist spots such as Chester, Kendal and Whitby along with the picturesque surroundings at Matlock in the Derbyshire Dales and the big city lights of FC United of Manchester. All away fixtures will see the travel coach stopping off in the town-centre two hours before kick-off to allow fans the opportunity to sample the amenities these interesting towns and cities have to offer.
A friendly and welcoming atmosphere prevails on the coach with regular raffles, super-six score predictors and the customary Man of the Match choice following the match.
The Travel Club operates a Gold Membership which ensures the holder travel on the coach to every away league game during the course of the season (subject to coach being chartered) and an understanding payment structure is put in place to help fans balance their finances. Prices are currently being discussed by the Travel Club and will be publicised in due course.
