As the 2008/09 season draws towards it's final few weeks, the MFYL Premier League's only unbeaten side, were the visitors to Keys Park. The young Pitmen were still smarting after the 4-1 loss at Solihull a couple of weeks ago and were well focussed on reversing that scoreline.

The first half started in competitive manner, with Paul Casey's line up set up to negate the excellent Solihull midfield.

After 8 minutes a needless free kick was conceded on the left but was defended well by the home defence to keep the scores level.

Oliver Casey was the first to come close for the young Pitmen when he executed a fine improvised hook shot from a good right wing cross but the shot went straight to the goalkeeper.

In the 28th minute some more great movement by Casey, from a corner kick, saw another chance for the home side cleared off the goal line. At this point the home side were getting the better of their unbeate3n opponents and again came close to taking the lead when a Ryan Lester shot hit the outside of the post.
On 40 minutes the game changed completely when a misplaced pass in midfield put Solihull on the offensive and the chance was eagerly taken with Jordan Money having no chance with the close range shot.

Solihull started the brighter of the two sides in the second half and hit the bar in the 48th minute, although the young Pitmen reacted well to clear the danger.
In the 63rd minute Solihull went further in front when the home side failed to defend a free kick, a lead that was going to be very difficult to retrieve.

A flurry of substitutions saw Adam Meacham, Jack Hepple and Drew Aiton come into the game, the latter who quickly began to make an impact in midfield.
With Solihull's Liam Doyle in great form at centre back the Hednesford Town strikers were getting little opportunity to get a shot at goal and the time gradually ran down, leaving this first rate youth team unbeaten in the League.

It will certainly be a very good side that will beat Solihull at present and it will not be a surprise to me if they go through the whole season unbeaten in the League.
